Chapter3: the kids

 Once we had children we had to buy a crib used of course and then stock it with soft bumpers and a musical  mobile. Once in the crib we 'd lay them on their back head turned so they wouldn't chock on milk throw-ups  We worried about SIDS and if we'd wake up in time to feed and change them. We spilt the duties but as they grew Deb worked longer shift at higher differential  pay and I was the one who woke up and did the baby shit. Since I like to sing and create songs, which kept me alert and awake, I created all manner of songs and the one I liked best was: "don't you go out in the rain, rain, rain. Or I might not see you again, gain, gain. Water hates sugar and don't you see, you're my little sweet baby...." Round and round that oval runner rug I'd walk and soothe and burp with the baby on my shoulder, holding leg to make sure I didn't drop it.
